On Monday, our route was west of Paulina Lake where we visited small lakes and lunched and played at a large lake. The trip was through forests including the “Ghost Forest” of white, still standing trees remaining after a forest fire. Find more info on this trip by following the link below called “Taylor Lake”

Wednesday’s trip was a route south and east from Paulina Lake. We traveled quite a ways on simple graded dirt roads and they made quite a dust cloud. We visited several natural geological features including “Ice Cave”, “Fort Rock”, and “Crack in the Ground” and then finished the fun at Christmas Valley Sand Dunes. On Friday we found ourselves at MogFest, west of Salem Oregon. The 4-wheeling action was of a different variety there, replacing the trekking/exploring trips of Syncro Safari with the vehicular fun that one can do in known terrain close to support. Some Syncro Safari attendees, including Craig Spaeth took the MogFest 4-wheeling trip. Read more about it by Selecting the “MogFest” Trip link below. |
